Construction on a series of projects in the Dike-New Hartford Community School District is now underway!

The projects, which will improve facilities and add space at both the Dike and New Hartford campuses, come as the result of an approved bond issue vote in spring 2020. We expect the construction process to take about 18 months to complete.

The projects include the creation of secure entrances at Dike and New Hartford elementary schools and DNH High School, as well as the addition of storm shelter safe-room spaces to both campuses.

There will also be HVAC and mechanical improvements, including air conditioning, upgraded lighting and air quality systems, as well as the replacement of broken ceiling tiles. A new parking lot and drop-off lane will be added at New Hartford, while a new drop-off lane would be added in Dike.

In addition, the existing two-story high school will be completely renovated and a portion will include a new space devoted to science and agriculture classes featuring modern flexible lab spaces, classrooms and ag research space. We are also building a new gymnasium at DNH High School to relieve pressure on the district’s current gyms and multi-purpose rooms.
